Don't miss this upcoming "Project
Ecuador" event..
WHAT: The Winter Park Fraser Valley Rotary Club is presenting a “ Project Ecuador ” evening
WHEN: Friday, November the 30th from 7pm-9pm
WHERE: at the Beaver Village Lodge in Winter Park
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? All Rotarians, spouses, friends and the general public are invited.
DESCRIPTION
Eden Recor will be presenting a slide show of his recent trip to Ecuador and talk about impressions, accomplishments, and future ideas for joint Grand County Rotary Clubs International Project Grants.
Pam Gilbert will also present her progress with the schools and answer questions.
Pam, who initiated the whole project on her own in 2003, has helped build a missing and very much needed secondary school in this small Andes Community of Malingua Pamba.
We are hoping that some of the Denver Chapter of Engineers Without Borders will be present to talk about their involvement with this community. They are currently involved in clean water/irrigation for this poor, but very involved and busy community .
The Grand County Rotary clubs stepped in last year to meet some of the education needs and are now working on matching international grants with the water project, remote education and health.
This should be a very informative evening especially for our Rotarians, but also for their spouses and friends or future volunteers. Find out what it takes to help out as a volunteer. Pam is visiting this community twice a year and it was her 10th visit this November.
Beaver Village Lodge offered us to participate in their buffet style dinner, that is open for their guests before the meeting starts as well. Costs is $10.00 and includes soda, tea and coffee.
The Buffet opens at 5:30pm. We hope you can join us.
